Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a traditional rollercoaster with a mining theme set in the old west.

The line winds through old west style buildings like you would find at the top of gold mine with weathered wood and desert theming. There are a handful of things to touch and interact with along the way.

When you’re ready to load, there are two loading bays, and when the line gets long these use both and can run multiple trains at a time. When only one bay is open, the line moves fairly slow and there is usually a lot of forward movement when the second bay is opened.

The ride itself is actually pretty long and enjoyable. While this wouldn’t be the rollercoaster for avid coaster fans seeking new thrills, its great for kids and families.

There are three hills to climb along way with fun sections twisting back and forth in and out of the mines over Big Thunder Mountain.
