Family Friendly Roller Coasters
1) Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster
Starting out the list is the Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster at Universal Studios Florida. Quite similar to Disney’s Barnstormer, this roller coaster is “a kid’s first roller coaster.”
Kids need to be 36 inches to ride and must have a supervising Companion if they are under 48 inches.
This kiddie coaster is perfect for introducing kids to roller coasters because this short ride is less than a minute long. It only goes about 30 feet high making it a sweet ride for little ones!
2) Flight of the Hippogriff™
The Flight of the Hippogriff™ is a family friendly roller coaster at Universal Studios Orlando – Islands of Adventure. There’s a 36 inch minimum height requirement. Kids under 48 inches need a supervising companion.
This ride is a family-friendly roller coaster that gives you a beautiful view of the park. You’ll dip, dive, and spiral around the grounds near Hagrid’s hut.
3) Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure™
Fly with Hagrid™ into the Forbidden Forest next to the castle, on this roller coaster ride and see some of the wizarding world of Harry Potter’s most magical creatures.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure™ is an incredible story coaster that has 7 launches and plenty of surprises. It’s family friendly with a 48 inch height requirement. Don’t miss this amazing ride at Universal Studios Orlando – Islands of Adventure!

4) Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™ in Universal Studios Florida is half motion simulator and half roller coaster.
Go on an adventure underground as you explore the vaults of Gringotts™ down Diagon Alley™. See Harry, Ron, and Hermione, Voldemort™, trolls and plenty of other Wizarding World creatures.
This roller coaster/simulator has a height requirement of 42 inches and kids under 48 inches need a supervising adult. The ride vehicle also is narrow with limitations of 40 inch waist.
5) Revenge of the Mummy
Revenge of the Mummy is half roller coaster, half dark ride. Escape from the evil Mummy by racing through a very well done themed dark ride.
The roller coaster is smooth and it’s such an amazing thrilling experience, you’ll want to ride again and again. There’s a minimum height requirement of 48 inches for Revenge of the Mummy.
Definitely on our family’s list of rides to go on each time we visit as the ride experience is top notch.
Thrill-Seeker Roller Coasters
6) Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
If going up 17 stories high, a vertical lift, a non-inverting loop, and speeds of 65 mph sound invigorating, check out the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. You get to pick the music you want to listen to on this ride, making it super fun!
This is one of the craziest rides at Universal and a must-do for thrill seekers!
The height requirements for the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit are a minimum height of 51 inches and a maximum height of 79 inches.
7) The Incredible Hulk Coaster®
The Incredible Hulk Coaster® at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is truly a wild ride for thrill seekers who love high speeds. This intense roller coaster goes upside down 7 times, and launches you up to 67 mph.
It’s a high speed ride that takes you upside down into a zero gravity roll. There is a minimum height requirement of 54 inches.

8) Jurassic World VelociCoaster
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Race through the jungle through Jurassic Park’s raptor paddock. The Jurassic World VelociCoaster reaches a top speed of 70 mph and is a very intense ride.
It’s a roller coaster that will wow the ultimate roller coaster fan. This ride has a minimum ride height requirement of 51 inches. It’s a must-do for thrill seekers!
