Despicable Me Minion Mayhem™ is a minion themed 3D simulator for all ages, and it has a great opening act.
After making your way through Gru’s house, you come in as a group to watch an introductory show. Gru, the kids, and minions are all present. They explain how you are slated to be transformed to a minion. Margo, Edith, and Agnes volunteer to train you.
After the show, you go in to sit in rows of seats, sort of like Soarin at Disney’s Epcot. The seats move during the show which corresponds to the 3D animation. You bounce around Gru’s lab to complete your training.
There are lots of ups and downs, bombs, explosions, gears, and machinery to avoid in typical Despicable Me fashion. Minion Mayhem is great fun for the whole family!
This Despicable Me Universal Studios ride is not all pointless though. It is the one year anniversary of the girls’ adoption and Edith wants to give Gru a special gift. Will she deliver it or will it be lost? And does Gru even remember the adoption anniversary? You’ll have to take a ride to find out.
Be sure to include it on your trip to Universal Studios Florida, unless you’re too good for fart guns.

Queue Description: You enter the queue through the the front door for Gru’s house and go from room to room. Eventually, you enter a staging area as a group.
Queue Length: After opening, the wait-time often stays around 45 minutes throughout the day.
Ride Height Requirements: 40in (102cm) or taller
Scary Factor: Low – This a 3D adventure in a simulator so there is excitement, but its really a ride for all ages.
