Planning a Disney World Vacation? Here’s our review of the Art of Animation Resort at Disney World.
If you are looking for an amazing hotel for families on Disney property, Art of Animation has a lot to offer.
Let’s discuss all of the pros and cons of staying at this Disney hotel.

Pros of Staying at Art of Animation
1) Amazing Theming
Disney’s Art of Animation is truly immersive. From the amazing Disney Character statues scattered throughout the resort, to the moment you enter your room that is decorated in the perfect theme, you are sure to be wowed!

Check out our room in The Lion King section. When we entered, there was music from The Lion King playing. The room has so many cute details, it’s truly magical!
The chairs are shaped like leaves at the table, which also folds out into a bed.

The theming doesn’t stop….you can even find it in the bathroom with these fun sunrise design in the shower and leaves surrounding the mirror.

There’s fun hints of The Lion King everywhere you look. Such a fun way to immerse yourself in the magic of Disney!
2) Skyliner Access
It can’t be said enough…staying at a resort on the Skyliner is a huge benefit.
The Skyliner is an aerial gondola lift system that connects certain Disney hotel resorts with 2 of the Disney theme parks (Hollywood Studios and Epcot).

Art of Animation is one of the 4 Disney resorts that are connected by the Skyliner. The other 3 are Pop Century, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera. Being able to use the Skyliner as a mode of transportation is incredible.
It’s a beautiful ride and absolutely superior to riding on the Disney bus or driving and having to walk through those big parking lots.
It’s a quiet, peaceful ride and beautiful too!
3) Rooms for Families of 6
Art of Animation is one of the few Disney Hotels that offer large suites that easily have space for families of 5 or 6!
The Art of Animation family suites are perfect for big families.

There’s a separate bedroom with a queen bed with it’s own full bathroom, a dining table that transitions into a double bed, and a pullout couch that turns into a double bed as well. Plus there’s a small kitchenette and a second full bathrooms as well.
4) Plenty of Photo Ops
The grounds of Disney’s Art of Animation are filled with amazing photo opportunities. You can experience the world of the movie Cars and pose with statues of Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, and more!

In the Little Mermaid section you can take pictures next to Ariel, King Triton, Sebastian, and more.

Kids will enjoy seeing their favorite characters from Finding Nemo like Dory, the seagulls, and Nemo.

And of course in The Lion King section, kids can pose next to Simba, Rafiki and more!

5) Themed Pools
There’s a fun Cars themed pool called the Cozy Cone Pool…which has amazingly large traffic cones and plenty of cool theming.

You can calso find the Flippin’ Fins Pool, that features some amazing Little Mermaid characters.
Plus, enjoy a swim in the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World Resort, which is the Big Blue Pool. This pool has amazing theming from the movie Finding Nemo.

Cons of Staying at Art of Animation
1) Expensive
Art of Animation is a Value Resort. However, the pricing can often compare to some moderate and deluxe resorts.
This is because it’s a popular resort. Family suites can be hard to find on Disney property, so finding so many in one place is incredible.
And of course the theming is super popular as well. The photo ops here at Art of Animation are a thousand times better than it’s neighboring resort, Pop Century.
2) Can be Noisy
When the Art of Animation had renovations done a few years ago, the carpeting was removed in many of the rooms. The new flooring can echo noises. It can be loud if a neighbor above or below you is rolling a suitcase or moving chairs.
A simple fix for this is a white noise machine or a white noise phone app. But I thought I’d mention it since it’s nice to know this flaw ahead of time so you aren’t settled into your bed and suddenly jarred awake by noises from a neighbor.
And….honestly that’s it. There really isn’t that many cons. There’s a lot to love about Disney’s Art of Animation resort!
