Today I’m sharing 5 items that are absolutely necessary for a Disney Vacation!
Of course, there’s many items that are handy for a Walt Disney World Vacation, but these rank as the top 5 most useful items for a Disney trip.
Here’s the top 5 things you can’t leave home without!

1) Comfortable Walking Shoes
The shoes you wear to Disney matter A LOT! It’s not uncommon to walk 15,000-20,000 steps in a day at the parks.
The best shoes for the job are ones that you have worn faithfully for a few months already. A Disney trip is not the time to break in new shoes!
On the same note, if you haven’t been wearing your faithful sandals for several months over the winter, you will want to start wearing them regularly at home before you try to wear them at the parks.
As far as comfortable shoes go, we like to wear sneakers into the parks. Comfortable sandals like Birkenstocks can also be a solid option.
Be sure to pack multiple options, as one may get wet from a pop up Florida rain shower or a water ride. You’ll want those extra shoes so that you can allow your wet shoes some time to dry.

2) Portable Cell Phone Charger
- Slim Size, Big Power: One of the slimmest and lightest 10,000mAh portable chargers on the market. Provides 2 charges for iPhone 15, 1.93 charges for Galaxy S23, and 1.23 charges for iPad mini 6.
- Lightweight and Compact: With its compact 5.99 ร 2.81 ร 0.61-inch size and weighing a mere 8.6 oz, it’s designed for on-the-go lifestyles.
- Tough and Trustworthy: Engineered for toughness with scratch resistance in mind. Its durability is certified by a 3.2 ft drop test.
- Two-Way USB-C Charging: The USB-C port supports both input and output functions, makes charging and recharging quick and easy.
- What You Get: PowerCore Slim 10000, USB-C cable, welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Between regular phone usage and using the My Disney Experience App to book Lightning Lanes, your phone’s battery will drain quickly.
Be sure to pack a portable Cell Phone Charger that will completely refill your phone battery.
We like this Anker Power Bank.
It can charge your phone 2-3x compared to a smaller chapstick battery version that might only charge your phone halfway.
3) Sun Protection
The Florida sun can be brutal so you definitely want to bring along sun protection!
Sunscreen is an absolute must-have for a Disney vacation. We like to lather up everyone in the morning before we leave our hotel.
It can be handy to have a small bottle to bring with you into the parks. Especially if your teen forgot to sunscreen….yes, that’s happened to us!
Sunglasses are also a great idea as well as a hat. Just make sure to stow your hat in your backpack before getting on rides!
4) Ponchos
- 50% THICKER FAMILY PACK: Avoid the cheap ponchos and get a durable and thick material rain poncho with drawstrings Men , Women, Teens and children individually packaged
- SAVE FOR YOUR TRIP TO DISNEY: You get a total of 8 ponchos 4 adult and 4 child size
- EASY TO TRAVEL AND CARRY: No need to carry a heavy rain coat or umbrellas in Disney, Hiking, Concerts. Fits in your pocket or bag.
- ASSORTED COLORS : As shown in images, each package contains 4 assorted contemporary colors -Kids can choose from
- TRUSTED BRAND: lingito prides itself on it’s quality and customer service
Florida is known for it’s pop up rain storms. They come and go very quickly, but you won’t want to be stuck without a poncho to keep you and your belongings dry.
We like to pack a cheap poncho to take with us for those unexpected storms. You can definitely buy a poncho at Disney World, but it will cost A LOT more than if you come prepared with your own.
5) Body Glide
- No More Blister Bandages for Feet | Blister prevention to avoid the need for treatment & first aid
- Clean Ingredients | Made with allergen free, plant-derived ingredients that are child safe, vegan approved, and never tested on animals
- Infused with Vitamin A and C | helps minimize inflammation and restore dry, chapped, and chafed feet
- Non Greasy Barrier | Protect skin from friction and rubbing caused by socks, straps, seams, and more
- Vacation Essential | Protect your feet while you explore – no matter the type of shoe
After several days of walking in the parks, you might develop blisters on your heels, or feet, or chaffing between your legs.
Body Glide is a simple solution to prevent these problems!
You can get Foot Glide which prevents blisters on your feet. I can attest to how wonderful this is as I used it on our last trip and it completely eliminated the need for me to patch my feet with Moleskin each night. You can learn more about how to avoid getting blisters at Disney here.
There’s also Body Glide to prevent the pain of body chaffing. Our family uses this for theme parks, state fairs, camp, etc. Basically, it helps in any situation where there is a lot of time spent in the heat and lots of walking.
